Becky Davis (a.k.a. Terri Terrain) has a master’s degree in education. She has taught first and second grade in the Clark County School District. Becky left the classroom for a short time in order to educate teachers, literacy specialists, and administrators on the current research and importance of reading in a child’s education. Now, back in the classroom, Becky is working with her favorite audience, first graders.
Getting children excited about the desert where they live was Becky’s goal as author of Red Carpet Chronicles. Becky Davis leads audiences through the lives and mysteries of the Mojave Desert plants through a vivacious and knowledgeable reporter named Terri Terrain. The illustrated picture book, sponsored by the non-profit organization that supports the Winchester Park and Desert Demonstration Garden in Las Vegas, teaches children about desert plants that are “water-smart” additions to the landscape. Not only are desert plants natural born survivors; their unique characteristics can capture the imagination of children.
